1978年以单曲「巡恋歌」正式出道。翌年发行第一张专辑『風は南から』、80年「順子」获得公信榜冠军。 之后、85年「勇次」、87年「ろくなもんじゃねぇ」、88年「乾杯」「とんぼ」等、在八十年代大受欢迎。
梦回昭和：都市丽人的生活配乐
说起City Pop很多人并不陌生，它在近十年衍生出一大波复古潮流文化 ，比如蒸汽波、比如怀旧影视、再比如近年大火的落日飞车。热带绿植、蓝色大海、梦幻沙滩、复古飞车，再来一点怀旧的失真、轻松写意的假日风，这便是不少人对于City Pop的初体验。
City Pop起源于日本昭和时代的黄金时期，彼时日本经济蓬勃发展，繁华光景刺激着每一个人的感官，而开放的环境则涌入大量现代文化艺术日本，催生出City Pop文化。在那个年代，City Pop更像是一场被时代推动所产生的集体式成长，因为一大批的音乐人都有着相似的生活背景。
战后的日本以美国榜样，无论是经济还是文化吸纳了很多新潮文化。尤其是驻日美军和众多的旅美日本人，推波助澜地传播了相当多的现代流行文化。虽然日本摇滚在当时仍停留在英文翻唱的阶段，但已有了长足的发展。于是一批新日本公民应运而生，他们从小在这样的环境下长大，有着更现代的思想与审美。
